Canada

Invoices that do not cost your customer their input tax credit.

A Canadian invoice that charges GST or HST without a valid registration number costs your business customer their input tax credit — and costs you the phone call. KRONENWERK checks precisely that, issues invoices and estimates in English or French, and keeps the books behind them: expenses, bills, general ledger, reports.

  • The GST/HST number on the invoice

Where tax is charged, the registration number has to appear beside it: KRONENWERK reports it when the number is missing, when it cannot be a GST/HST account, or when a business number was given whose programme identifier is something other than “RT”. That is the error the recipient cannot fix for themselves.

  • Two languages on the document

Invoice and estimate carry Canadian English or Canadian French — the same terms your customer expects, from one source rather than two separate translations. The interface exists in both languages too, and choosing one changes nothing about your country.

  • Several currencies, several companies

Posting in Canadian dollars and invoicing in US dollars or euro is the normal case, not the exception: customer currency and book currency are separate. Anyone running several corporations switches between them and sees them on one screen — each with its own books, its own country and its own currency.

  • An interface you can genuinely build on

Keys with per-resource scopes, idempotency, named errors, signed and retried webhooks — and an MCP endpoint through which an AI agent reads, drafts and — where the company allows it — acts up to a set limit, under those same rights. The developer documentation describes each point rather than asserting it.

What KRONENWERK does not do in Canada

The tax rate is yours to determine.

  • No determination of GST, HST, PST or QST. The applicable rate depends on the place of supply; KRONENWERK computes with the rate you enter and does not supply it. A product that defaulted to five per cent because federal GST is five per cent would be wrong in Ontario and wrong in Québec.
  • No tax return, and no filing with the CRA or Revenu Québec.
  • No Canadian chart of accounts is shipped, and there is no payroll. A chart of accounts ships for Germany only today.
  • There is no e-invoicing mandate in Canada — and so none of the European formats appear on your documents. A Canadian seller gets neither ZUGFeRD nor Peppol UBL here, because neither means anything to them.

Asked and answered

The questions that come before the decision.

  • Does KRONENWERK calculate my GST/HST?

KRONENWERK computes with the rate you supply and totals it correctly. It does not determine the rate: that turns on the place of supply, and no tax-determination service has been bought.

  • Can I run several Canadian corporations?

Yes, from the Scale plan — up to five operated together, and up to fifteen on Enterprise. Each needs its own subscription; qualifying additional companies of the same owner are charged at a reduced rate.

  • Is KRONENWERK available in Canadian French?

The documents carry Canadian French terminology when the country module runs in that variant; the interface is available in French. Choosing a language changes nothing about your company's country.

The other countries

Six countries, six different answers.

What KRONENWERK can do follows from the country module, not from marketing copy. Each of these pages says the same thing twice for its country: what is there, and what is not.

"Ready" means: every mandatory invoicing process KRONENWERK implements for this country can be completed. It does not mean every tax of every region is covered — that is what the "Tax rules" line is for.
