The file Peppol asks for — written and validated.
Since 1 January 2026 Belgian VAT-registered businesses have had to exchange structured invoices with one another, as a rule in Peppol BIS Billing 3.0. KRONENWERK writes exactly that UBL and validates it against the schematron rules before it leaves the building — and keeps the books it came from.

Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 as UBL
The file produced carries the customisation identifier Peppol requires and satisfies the rules an access point checks. A readable rendering is produced alongside it for the person who looks at the invoice — the XML is the document, the page is the courtesy.

Validated before it reaches the access point
An invoice an access point rejects costs two days and a telephone call. So KRONENWERK checks against the same rules in-house — and refuses to produce a file that Belgian law plainly does not allow, rather than producing it and leaving the error for the recipient to find.

Two languages, one business
Interface and documents exist in Dutch and in French — and choosing a language says nothing about the law that applies. A Belgian company working in French remains a Belgian company; the country module decides the rules, not the language control.

Estimates, invoices, expenses, bills, payments, reminders, recurring invoices, multiple currencies, and the reports drawn from one ledger. Belgian VAT rates, exemption wording and validation of Belgian identifiers live in the country module.
What KRONENWERK does not do in Belgium
Writing is not sending.
- No Peppol access point. KRONENWERK writes and validates the UBL; sending it across the Peppol network is done by an access point you engage. For as long as no transport is configured, the Belgian module expressly declares no national delivery.
- No Belgian chart of accounts is shipped. A chart ships for Germany only today; in Belgium you set up your own.
- No e-reporting to the administration. Whatever reporting Belgium introduces from 2028, KRONENWERK does not implement it today.
- No tax advice, and no signed-off bank connection.

Since when is e-invoicing compulsory in Belgium?
Since 1 January 2026, for invoices between VAT-registered businesses established in Belgium. There are exceptions — for wholly exempt activities, among others. The Belgian statute governs, not this page.
